The 1968 Pacific Coast League set is a 12-team, 400 card, APBA-compatible set in color pdf format that features many 60’s, 70s & 80s stars like Lou Pinella, Graig Nettles, Tony LaRussa, Hal McRae, Bobby Bonds, Ray Fosse, Bill Melton, Don Money, Larry Hisle, Jay Johnstone, Nate Colbert, Tommy Hutton, Walt “No-Neck” Williams, Andy Messersmith, Mike Torrez, Bo Belinsky, Jim Bouton. Included with the set is a roster/lineup card for each team and Master Game numbers are on each players’ card.
The 1968 Pacific Coast League season was the 66th in the league’s history, and ended with the Tulsa Oilers winning their first league championship with a 95-53 record, managed by Hall-of-Famer Warren Spahn. Led by batting champion Jim Hicks, .366, this Cardinals affiliate also featured infielder Coco Laboy and 1B Joe Hague with a pitching staff of Chuck Taylor (18-7), Dick LeMay (16-10) Pete Mikkelsen (16-4), Clay Kirby (7-6) and Mike Torrez (8-2) with a bullpen of Sal Campisi, Jerry Robertson, Tom Hilgendorf, Wayne Granger and Stu Miller.
This was the final PCL season for Seattle, San Diego, Tulsa, Denver, Indianapolis and Oklahoma City. Seattle and San Diego were joining Major League Baseball, while the other teams would join the American Association.
