The 1924 International League set is an 8-team, 187 card, APBA-compatible set in color pdf format that features Hall-of Famers Lefty Grove and Jocko Conlan (as a player), the notorious Fred Merkle, and many other major leaguers like George “Moose” Earnshaw and Fritz Maisel. Included with the set is a roster/lineup card for each team and Master Game numbers are on each players’ card.
The Baltimore Orioles win their 6th title in a row with a 117-48 record by 19 games over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ranked by Minor League Baseball.com and historians Bill Weiss & Marshall Wright as the 5th best All-Time Minor League team. Leading the way was Lefty Grove, who some say was the greatest left-hander the game has ever seen, with a 26-6 record. The IL batting champ was Oriole Secondbaseman “Twitchy Dick” Porter with a .364-23-125 line as Porter, SS Joe Boley, C Joe Cobb, Grove and pitcher Jack Ogden were named to the International League All-Star team. Lead off hitter Fritz Maisel, the 1914 AL stolen base champion, would score 134 runs while batting .306 with 20 HRs.
